Remembering The War of 1812
Ambassador Jacobson: "For me, the most important lesson of the War of 1812 is what came after it: peace. 200 years ago, Americans and Canadians were fighting each other, killing each other, burning each other's captives. Today, no two countries on earth have a closer, more stronger relationship. We stand together, we work together for peace, prosperity and friendship. That transformation from enemies to closest of friends should serve as a ray of hope to people in troubled nations around the world."
