We're very pleased to announce the winners of our Photo USA Contest. Nearly 50 Canadians submitted their photos of the United States to us online through August and September. We now have a veritable photographic tourist guide of some of the best and most beautiful places across America, seen through the lens of our closest neighbors and friends.
Ambassador Jacobson and our staff at the U.S. Embassy have narrowed down the many super photographers and their photographs to three winners: 1st prize to Gloria B. from London, Ontario for her photo of White Sands in New Mexico; 2nd prize to Jo W. from Ottawa, Ontario for her photo of Cloud Gate (or "the bean") in Chicago's Millenium Park, Illinois; and 3rd prize to Corey F. of P.E.I. for his photo of a cute couple at the U.S.-Canada border in Derby Line, Vermont. The winners will receive a Kindle, Life magazine's 70 Years of Extraordinary Photography Platinum Anniversary book, and In Focus: National Geographic Greatest Portraits book, respectively.
